Service Description
A Noble Foundation is an approved provider through Alabama’s CHOOSE Act program. Eligible families may use ClassWallet education funds toward registration for this workshop. The Art of Cultivating the Land: Cattle Farm Experience is an immersive educational program that introduces students to the vital role agriculture plays in feeding our communities. Through hands-on exploration, observation, and artistic expression, students discover the journey of food from the farm to the table while developing a deeper appreciation for the people, animals, and natural resources that make it possible. During their visit to a working cattle farm, students learn about livestock care, responsible farming practices, pasture management, nutrition, environmental stewardship, and the interconnected systems that support sustainable agriculture. Guided by A Noble Foundation's arts-integrated learning framework, students observe the rhythms of farm life, ask questions, and engage with real-world agricultural concepts through meaningful experiences. The program culminates in a standards-aligned visual arts lesson where students sculpt their own miniature farm landscapes using a variety of artistic materials. As they design barns, fields, fencing, livestock, and other agricultural features, students apply what they have learned while strengthening creativity, spatial reasoning, problem-solving, and communication skills. By combining agriculture, environmental science, visual arts, and experiential learning, The Art of Cultivating the Land inspires curiosity, gratitude, and a lasting understanding of where our food comes from—encouraging children to become thoughtful stewards of the land and the communities it nourishes. This workshop is aligned with the Alabama Course of Study and is designed for elementary-age students and an accompanied caregiver. Location: Mobile Al. 36695
