The Art of Pollinators

Service Description

A Noble Foundation is an approved provider through Alabama’s CHOOSE Act program. Eligible families may use ClassWallet education funds toward registration for this workshop. The Art of Pollinators is an immersive educational experience that introduces students to the extraordinary world of honeybees and butterflies and their essential role in sustaining our ecosystems and food supply. Through hands-on exploration, scientific observation, and artistic expression, students discover how one of nature's smallest creatures has one of the greatest impacts on life on Earth. During their visit to a working bee farm, students learn about the structure of a honeybee colony, the responsibilities of the queen, worker, and drone bees, the process of pollination, honey production, and the importance of bees in supporting agriculture and biodiversity. Guided by A Noble Foundation's arts-integrated learning framework, students explore the fascinating connections between insects, flowering plants, food systems, and environmental stewardship. The experience concludes with a standards-aligned visual arts lesson inspired by the beauty and complexity of the natural world. Students create original bee and pollinator-themed artwork while exploring pattern, texture, color, symmetry, and design. Through the creative process, they reinforce scientific concepts and express their understanding of how pollinators contribute to healthy ecosystems and thriving communities. By integrating life science, environmental education, agriculture, and visual arts, The Art of Pollination encourages curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for the natural world. Students leave with a greater understanding of the vital role pollinators play in our everyday lives and are inspired to become thoughtful caretakers of the environment. This workshop is aligned with the Alabama Course of Study and is designed for elementary-age students and an accompanied caregiver. Location: Mobile Al. 36695
